A Long Time Question Answered.
Something I have always wondered is why CDs and DVD's always come out on a Tuesday. At first I didn't catch on and never really thought about it as I'm sure a lot of people haven't. I do not think about this everyday and let it haunt me but I just always wonder why Tuesdays? Who came up with that day and why?? It did not occur to me until this moment to look it up and get this question answered for me once and for all. According to Yahoo! Answers.com the reason that CD's come out on Tuesday is because there was always a mid week slump for the entertainment industry so they wanted to pick things up. The reason DVDs come out on that date is for the same reason and also because they didn't want to mix DVD sales with box office sales. Although this answer is vague and didn't tell me who made up this rule, it was the most information I could find with google. It will put my mind at ease and I will no longer wonder why. So for everyone that has ever had the same question as me there is your short answer!

That’s very interesting, Ii finally know why they come out with CD’s on Tuesdays. I think whoever came up with that idea did a good job because Tuesday is the beginning of the week and it gives people a couple of days to come up with the money to buy the CD at the end of the week.
That whole Tuesday thing is a bit frustrating. It makes no sense. Its just like how movies come out either on Wednesday or Friday. Does it really matter at all? Maybe there is a good reason that they do it like that. Maybe it is to help people go to the mall more on Tuesdays because it is a slow day? Who knows. Good thing to bring up though, never really thought about it before.
Wow, its pretty sad that I never knew why that was the case. Two years at Newbury Comics did me no good. Thanks for posting that I had no idea!
